False Fall….Just as we were getting cozy

Heyyyy, guys! It’s me, Hades, here. Have you all been enjoying the fall weather lately? Well, semi-lately. It was cool for a bit, and then it got warm again. Hopefully, it won’t stay that way forever. I’m a big fan of snuggle weather, myself. I can curl up somewhere, get nice and cozy, and sleep!

Anyway, I know you guys may be expecting a blog about Thanksgiving this week, but I hate to disappoint you (sort of). We don’t actually celebrate Thanksgiving here at Rinks and Caverns (or whatever VonD calls this place). It is, as you likely know, a colonizer holiday. Therefore, it’s not something that we celebrate, as it glorifies things we definitely don’t approve of.

That being said, Black Friday is coming up and we will be open. This year, there’s an economic blackout going on during Black Friday. We’ll be participating by going cash-only in the shop November 25th through December 2nd. This will allow our awesome customers to purchase gifts and other items from their absolute *favorite* small business in Anniston without putting any money into the pockets of large corporations. And I’m sure y’all can agree that that benefits all of us!

As for what’s going on here this week, on Sunday, November 23rd, we’ll be having our monthly Introduction to Buddhism class. We’ll be studying Nichiren Buddhism and doing some reading and some chanting together. (I always really like the chanting, personally.)

We also have two Stitch N’ B*tch opportunities this week. One’s in the morning, on Tuesday, November 25th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. The other is in the evening, on Friday, November 28th, from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm. Bring your work in progress (WIP), a blanket, a drink, and anything else you might need to feel comfy and come stitch n’ b*tch to your heart’s content!
