Fooseball is the Debil and Christmas decor is upon us
Hello to my adoring fanbase out there. This is your Queen, Von D, writing again. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the Anniston High School Bulldogs football team. Although their choice of mascot is questionable, they’ve done an excellent job with their season this year. In fact, they’re undefeated and headed to the state championship this Friday, December 5th, at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. We will be closed that day to go and support the team there.
In fact, I want to encourage all of my readers to show up for the game on Friday. It’s at 11 am, and I want you all to do whatever you have to do to be there. Take off work. Skip school. Launder money. Hide a body if you have to. But be there! These students need everyone’s support to bring home the championship to Anniston. This is the Bulldogs’ first appearance in the state championship game since 1994, so this is kind of a big deal, as you can see.
I have another thing I’d like to ask all of you, too. The can opener here at Racehorses and Corncobs (or whatever dis place is called) keeps constantly humming the songs the marching band plays every Friday night. And I have to say, it’s driving me nuts. So, SOS: Come by the shop and offer me treats to help me cope before I completely lose it here.
Also, I should probably mention that the shop will be transforming for winter, Yule, and Christmas very, very soon. As in, this week. The humans love to decorate for these seasons/holidays, so expect something spectacular. (Yes, even I can admit when she does a good job.) I may have to inspect the decorations a bit myself first--you know, to make sure they’re done properly. But after they’ve passed my inspection, I’m sure all of you will enjoy them immensely. We will also be in the Anniston Christmas Parade again this year. That will be Saturday the 6th. See you all there for that.
