Hades’ Invite

Hey, everyone!

Hades here. Guess what's going on here at the shop right now? Weeeeeell...the fire is going in the fireplace, and it's about to get really cold for a couple of days. That means everybody needs to come on in and get cozy with me! (Okay, and maybe with Von D, too. But *especially* with me.) We are a lot of things here at Riddles and Carnations (or whatever VonD calls this place), but the thing we are most known for is being a book shop. So what I want to invite you guys to do is just come in, choose a book (or bring your own--and a drink, too!), have a seat in a comfy chair near the fireplace, and read for a while to ward off the chill in the air. There is absolutely no pressure or obligation to shop. Just come and relax with us! We love having visitors.

Speaking of relaxing, that's what everyone else here and I will be doing all throughout the holiday season. We don't do the wild corporate frenzy thing around the holidays. We prefer to just chill. That being said, I may sometimes have to make a dramatic leap or experience zoomies for a bit or something, just to get it out of my system. But that doesn't last very long, usually.

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is, we like to enjoy each season, even the winter holiday season, by relaxing. There will be no "Christmas creep" here. We won't even start putting up Christmas stuff until after Black Friday. We like to take our time and enjoy each individual season and holiday for what it is, be it Autumn, Christmas, Hanukkah, Yule, Kwanzaa, New Year, you name it. So if you, too, would like to take it slow this holiday season, come on in and have a seat. I might even get brave and come out to let you pet me.
